Tzu-Kai Chiu Pitches GCL Reds to Win Over GCL Twins

Tzu-Kai Chiu improved to 2-3 on the season with a nice start in the GCL Reds 3-1 win over the GCL Twins.  He gave up one run on four hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work.

Jose Bastardo was the hitting star in the win.  He doubled twice, drove in a run and scored.

Errors Cost Billings In Loss to Idaho Falls

A pair of errors led to two unearned runs in Billings 6-4 loss to Idaho Falls.  Luis Montano took the loss and he fell to 7-3.  He gave up three runs (just one earned) on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Todd Frazier went four for five with a double and an RBI.  Brett Bartles went one for three with two walks, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.

Rafael Gonzalez Pitches Dragons to Win Over Quad Cities

Rafael Gonzalez improved to 12-5 on the season with a nice start in the Dragons 6-2 win over Quad Cities.  He gave up one run on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings of work.

Jason Louwsma went three for five with a double and two runs in the win.  Logan Parker went two for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.

Rick Asadoorian Is Hit Hard In Lookouts Loss

Rick Asadoorian fell to 0-1 on the season with one rough inning.  He gave up four runs and he struck out three in the loss.

Enrique Cruz doubled and drove in two runs in the 7-4 loss.  Adam Rosales went two for four with a walk, a run and an RBI.

Tom Shearn Pitches Louisville to Win Over Indianapolis

Tom Shearn improved to 6-10 on the season with a nice start in Louisville’s 4-2 win over Indianapolis.  He gave up two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in seven solid innings.

Josh Hamilton went two for four with two RBIs and a run to lead the Bats at the plate.  Paul Janish went two for three with a double and a run.
