Matt Maloney’s perfect record came to an end with a rough start last night in the Bats 5-4 loss to the Yankees. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six this with six strikeouts in four innings. Jesus Delgado had a nice outing and he pitched two shutout innings of relief.
Wladimir Balentien went two for two with a double, two walks, two RBIs and three runs. Corky Miller went two for four with a double and an RBI.
The Bats didn’t get much from their hitters last night as they fell to the Hens 4-1. Chris Valaika two for three with a triple and he scored the lone run. Corky Miller went two for three.
Travis Wood took the loss and he fell to 0-3. He gave up four runs on nine hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Three of the nine hits he gave up left the building.
The Bats opened up Slugger Field with a win as they took care of the Hens 5-3. Daniel Dorn and Corky Miller provided the bulk of the offense with a pair of two run blasts. Jeff Frazier also had a nice game and he went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
Sam LeCure had a nice start and he improved to 1-0. He gave up a pair of runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings. Jon Adkins got the final three outs and he picked up his first save of the season.
