The Dragons lost 7-6 to the Loons and the damage that mattered came in the ninth inning. Ramon Geronimo gave up three ninth inning runs and he took the loss.
Justin Turner went two for five and he drove in two runs. Drew Stubbs went one for three with two RBIs and a run.
Juan Francisco provided the bulk of the Dragons offense in their 7-5 loss to the Loons. He went two for three with a homerun and four RBIs. Chris Valaika also had a hot day at the plate and he went four for five with two RBIs and a run.
Rafael Gonzalez improved to 8-1 on the season with a nice start. He gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Clayton Kershaw did a number on the Dragons, who were held to just two hits. Ironically, they came off the bat of the same player as Juan Francisco went two for three and he drove in the only run for the Dragons in their 3-1 loss.
Daniel Guerrero took the loss despite giving up just one unearned run. He struck out five in three innings in his start.
The Dragons took both games in their doubleheader sweep over South Bend. In the first game, the offense was rolling and Chris Valaika doubled, drove in three and scored a run. Juan Francisco went two for three with a homerun and two RBIs while Jordan Smith picked up the win with five decent innings in the 6-3 win.
In game two, pitching saved the game and Pedro Viola picked up the win with 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief. Drew Stubbs went two for three and he scored both runs in the 2-1 win.
A nice start by Sean Watson was wasted in the Dragons 3-2 loss to South Bend. He gave up one hit and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings.
Chris Valaika was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four and he hit a solo homerun.
Rain cut this one short as the Dragons lost to South Bend 5-1. Jason Louswma singled and he drove in the only run of the game.
Travis Webb took the loss and he dropped to 3-3 on the season. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five walks with four strikeouts in four innings of work.
Juan Francisco picked up two hits and he was the only player with a multihit game in the Dragon’s 5-0 loss. Chris Valaika doubled and he drew two walks.
Anthony Gressick was hit hard in the loss. He gave up five runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
Dayton scored four runs in the top of the seventh and they needed every one of them in the Dragons 6-5 win over Cedar Rapids. Chris Valaika was the hitting star and he had a hand in most of the runs. He went two for five with a double, a homeruns four RBIs and two runs.
Misael DeJesus threw 2 1/3 shutout relief innings and he picked up the win. Jose Rojas pitched three shutout innings to close the game out andhe picked up his seventh save of the season.
The Dragons had a rough time at the plate in their 2-0 loss to Cedar Rapids. Oddly the four hits were racked up by just two people. Chris Heisey doubled twice and Justin Turner singled twice.

Dayton was held to seven hits in their 4-0 loss to Cedar Rapids. Chris Heisey was the only Dragon with two hits in the game and none of the seven hits were for extra bases.

Chris Helsey had the only extra base hit of the game. He doubled and he also scored the only run for the Dragons.
Jamie Arneson gave up five runs and he didn’t even finish the fifth inning in the Dragons 6-4 loss to Clinton. He gave up five hits and three walks and he struck out two.
Denis Phipps was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Justin Turner had a big day at the plate in the Dragons 8-2 win over Clinton. He went three for four with a homerun and three RBIs. Eddy Rodriguez joins him with a monster game. He went two for three with a homerun, four RBIs and two runs.
Jordan Smith picked up the win with six decent innings. He gave up two runs on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
Dayton outhit Clinton 7-3 but the only run of the game was scored by Clinton in the 1-0 loss. A solid start by Sean Watson went to waste. He gave up one run on three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

Dayton picked up a 2-1 win over Fort Wayne with some nice pitching. Jamie Arneson pitched four innings and gave up just one run in his start while Pedro Viola picked up the win with three no-hit innings.
