Chris Denove had a big day at the plate as the Mudcats took care of Mobile 10-3. He went three for five with a double, five RBIs and a run. Denis Phipps went two for four with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Dallas Buck got plenty of run support but he still pitched a nice game. He gave up two runs on nine hits with two walks in 5 1/3 innings. The win improved his record to 2-3 on the season.
The Mudcats picked up just three hits in a 2-1 loss to the Smokies last night. Kris Negron went one for two with two walks and a run. Denis Phipps went two for four.
A nice start by Matt Klinker went to waste. He gave up a run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven innings. Jordan Smith gave uip a run in the ninth and he fell to 0-1.
The Mudcats got some strong pitching between Daryl Thompson’s seven strikeouts and Daryl Harang’s 3 2/3 shutout innings of relief. Harang picked up the win while Philippe Vallquette pitched a shutout ninth to pick up his first save of the season.

Jeremy Horst improved to 5-8 on the season with a really solid start in the Red win over Fort Myers. He gave up four hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 shutout innings.
Justin Reed went three for five with a triple and an RBI. Denis Phipps went two for five with a double and a run.
Matthew Klinker got it done on the mound and he improved to 2-1 with a really nice start in the Reds 5-0 win over Palm Beach. He gave up six hits and he struck out nine in six shutout innings.

Matthew Klinker improved to 1-1 on the season with a nice start in the Reds 3-1 win over Clearwater. He gave up just four hits without a walk and with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 shutout innings. Enerio Del Rosario threw 1 2/3 shutout innings and he picked up his second save of the season.
Denis Phipps went two for four with a double and an RBI. Jake Kahaulelio went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
The Reds took care of Clearwater 7-3 and Denis Phipps was the hitting star in this one. Not only did he account for almost half of the Reds offense with a three run blast, but he also went three for five.
Luis Montano picked up the win and he improved to 5-6. He gave up three runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
The Reds took care of the Yankees 4-1 and it was Travis Webb who was good enough on the mound. He improved to 4-4 and he gave up one run on four hits and five walks with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Jerry Gil improved to 3-6 on the season in the Reds 6-1 win over the Daytona Cubs. He gave up one run on four hits and four walks with a strikeout in 5 1/3 innings.

The Reds dropped their fifth straight game in a 4-1 loss to Jupiter. All four runs against them came in the first four frames in a mediocre start by Jeremy Horst. He fell to 0-1 and he gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits with a strikeout.
Yonder Alonso drove in the lone run and he singled. He has yet to live up to the hype as his number one prospect billing with a .156 batting average so far. Denis Phipps singled and doubled for the only multi-hit game.
Dayton blew out Beloit 9-2 and it was Brandon Waring who really stepped it up at the plate. He went three for five with two homers, five RBIs and three runs. Denis Phipps went three for five with a homerun and three RBIs.
Luis Montano improved to 2-0 with a nice start. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings.
The Dragons pummelled the White Caps in an impressive 10-0 rout. Juan Francisco led the way at the plate. He went two for five with a double and four RBIs. Denis Phipps also had a nice game and he went three for three with an RBI and two runs.
Rafael Gonzalez continued his impressive season and he improved to 9-1. He gave up four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Jamie Arneson gave up five runs and he didn’t even finish the fifth inning in the Dragons 6-4 loss to Clinton. He gave up five hits and three walks and he struck out two.

Dayton picked up a 2-1 win over Fort Wayne with some nice pitching. Jamie Arneson pitched four innings and gave up just one run in his start while Pedro Viola picked up the win with three no-hit innings.
