Solid Start By Matt Maloney Is Wasted in Bats Loss

Matt Maloney fell to 4-4 despite a solid start in the Bats 3-2 loss to Charlotte.  He gave up three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in the eight inning complete game.  He needed only 89 pitches and 70 of them were for strikes.

Drew Sutton went two for four with a double.  Kevin Barker tripled and he scored one of the two Bats runs.

Three Home Runs Pace Bats Win Over Norfolk

Chicks love the long ball and the Bats picked up three of them in a 6-4 win over Norfolk.  Drew Sutton belted a two run shot while Kevin Barker and Craig Tatum both went yard with a solo homers.

Ramon Ramirez picked up the win and he improved to 2-4 on the season. He gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings.

Homer Bailey Throws Eight Shutout Inning

Homer Bailey had another solid inning and he improved to 5-5 with an exceptional start in the Bats 6-0 win.  He gave up just four hits and two walk with eight strikeouts in eight shutout frames.

Darnell McDonald went two for five with a home run and two RBIs.  Drew Sutton went belted a home run, drew two walks, drove in two and scored twice.
