Louisville picked up just two runs on six hits and their pitchers were hit hard in a 9-2 loss. Tom Shearn took the loss and he dropped to 2-3 on the season. He gave up four runs on twelve hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
Earl Snyder hit a solo homerun in the loss. Jeff Keppinger went two for five with a double.
There were plenty of hitting stars in the Bats 10-1 win over Buffalo. Dewayne Wise went three for five with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs. Earl Snyder hit a three run homer to help out the cause.
Lost in all of the offense was a nice start by Mike Gosling. He gave up just one run on six hits with one strikeout in 6 2/3 innings.
The pen made this game interesting by giving up four eighth inning runs after the Bats took a 6-1 lead. Still Homer Bailey picked up the win and he gave up just one run on one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Earl Snyder hit a two run homer to help out the cause. Joey Votto went two for four and he scored two runs.
The Bats picked up two wins today in a couple of close games against the Syracuse Chiefs. In the first game, Chad Moeller led the offense in the 6-5 win. He went two for three with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Mark Bellhorn went two for four with an RBI. Gary Majewski picked up the win with an inning of shutout relief.
The second game was a little more low scoring, but it was a win none the less as the Bats won it 3-2. Bobby Livingston gave up a bunch of hits (12) but only two baserunners crossed the plate in 5 2/3 innings. Ricky Stone picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief. Earl Snyder was the hitting star and he went two for two with a walk, an RBI and a run.
Bobby Livingston had a pretty good start today for the Bats but at the end of the day, he dropped to 0-2 because the hitters picked up just one run. He gave up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Earl Snyder drove in the only run for the Bats. DeWaynee Wise went two for three with a triple and a run.
Homer Bailey got it done today. He gave up just one run on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts. It’s his second straight start where he’s given up just one run and you wonder how long he’s going to have to prove himself down here at Triple A.
The Bats scored six runs in the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie. Joey Votto, Aaron Herr and Earl Snyder all drove in two runs in the 8-2 win.
Tom Shearn looked very sharp in his start today. He gave up just one unearned run on two hits and two walks with four strikeouts in seven innings. Unfortunately, the pen couldn’t hold in the final two innings and the hitters racked up only three hits so he picked up a no decision for his troubles.
Earl Snyder picked up two of those three hits. Aaron Herr accounted for both Bats runs in the 4-2 loss with a two runs homer.
