The Lookouts scored three runs in the eighth inning, and while Mississippi answered with two in the ninth, the Lookouts held on to win it 7-6. Enrique Cruz had a nice day at the plate and he went two for three with a double, a homerun and three RBIs. Luis Bolivar went two for four with two runs and an RBI.
Luke Lockwood gave up three runs in five innings in his start. Brock Till picked up the win despite giving up two runs in his single inning of work.
Carlos Fisher had another awesome start and while he didn’t pick up the win, he did what he could to keep the Lookouts in the game. He gave up one run on four hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in eight innings. He now has 35 strikeouts in 31 innings since being promoted Double A. In all of his five Double A starts, he’s gone at least five innings and in three of those five starts he didn’t allow a single run.
Jesse Gutierrez doubled and drove in a run. Luis Bolivar went two for three with a double and a run.
James Avery had a rough start and he dropped to 5-5 on the season in the Lookouts 9-6 loss to Mississippi. He gave up all nine runs on ten hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings.
Luis Bolivar was the hitting star in the win. He went three for five with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Richie Garnder had a nice start and despite not getting a decision, he played a big role in the Lookouts 2-1 win over Mississippi. He gave up three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five shutout innings. Calvin Medlock threw a shutout frame and he picked up the win.
