Phil Dumatrait gave the Bats seven solid innings and while he didn’t take part in the decision, he definitely kept the Bats in the game. He gave up one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Mark Bellhorn hit a solo homerun in the 3-1 win. He was also the only Bat to reach base twice as he also drew a walk.
Mark Bellhorn had a nice day at the plate in the Bats 5-2 win over Rochester. He went two for four with a two run homer. Joey Votto singled twice and he drove in two runs in the win.
Tom Shearn improved to 3-4 on the season with a nice start. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.
Phil Dumatrait improved to 7-4 on the season with a nice start in the Bats 1-0 win over Rochester. He gave up just three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Mark Bellhorn drove in the only run of the game for either side. No Bat reached base twice and there were no extra base hits.
Bobby Livingston dropped to 0-4 on the season in a rough start in the Bats 11-3 loss to the Knights. He gave up seven runs on ten hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Mark Bellhorn was the hitting star. He went two for three with a solo homerun.
The Bats took care of the Bulls today 10-2 and Mark Bellhorn had a hand in half of those runs. He only had one hit but it was a grand slam and Bellhorn finished the game with five RBIs. Christopher Dickerson hit a two run shot and Mike Edwards went two for four with two walks and three runs.
Mike Gosling picked up the win with a really nice start. He gave up just two runs on five hits with ten strikeouts in seven innings. The win pushes his record to 5-2 on the season.
The Bats picked up two wins today in a couple of close games against the Syracuse Chiefs. In the first game, Chad Moeller led the offense in the 6-5 win. He went two for three with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Mark Bellhorn went two for four with an RBI. Gary Majewski picked up the win with an inning of shutout relief.
The second game was a little more low scoring, but it was a win none the less as the Bats won it 3-2. Bobby Livingston gave up a bunch of hits (12) but only two baserunners crossed the plate in 5 2/3 innings. Ricky Stone picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief. Earl Snyder was the hitting star and he went two for two with a walk, an RBI and a run.
Phil Dumatrait pitched the Bats to their first win in a while. He improved to a very impressive 4-0 record and he gave up just one unearned runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeouts in six innings.
Aaron Herr doubled, tripled and drove in three runs in the 7-1 win. Mark Bellhorn doubled twice and drove in two runs.
Homer Bailey got it done today, but the scored wouldn’t reflect it in the Bats 8-4 loss. Bailey gave up just a single run on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings of work. Then the pen exploed and gave up seven runs in the final four frames with the big inning being the sixth where the Tides picked up six runs.
Anderson Machado went two for four with a double and two RBIs. Mark Bellhorn went two for five with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Louisville managed only one run on five hits in their 3-1 loss to Richmond. Mark Bellhorn was the only bat with two hits and he also scored the lone run.
Bobby Livingston had a very solid start but he took the loss. He gave up two runs on six hits with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
Mark Bellhorn hit a huge three run shot in the fourth inning to push the Bats to a 3-2 lead. They’d later get an insurance run and make it 4-2 but that big hit was the difference between a win and a loss.
