Matt Maloney’s perfect record came to an end with a rough start last night in the Bats 5-4 loss to the Yankees. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six this with six strikeouts in four innings. Jesus Delgado had a nice outing and he pitched two shutout innings of relief.
Wladimir Balentien went two for two with a double, two walks, two RBIs and three runs. Corky Miller went two for four with a double and an RBI.
Matt Maloney may have seen his specatcular ERA (now 2.30) go up, but it was still more then good enough for him to walk away with the win in the Bats 6-4 win over Gwinnett. He gave up three runs on seven hits and two walk with six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Robert Manuel gave up a run in the ninth but he still picked up his sixth save of the season.
Kevin Barker went two for four with a double, a home run and two RBIs. Chris Heisey also had a nice game and he went three for five with a double, an RBI and two runs.
Matt Maloney fell to 4-4 despite a solid start in the Bats 3-2 loss to Charlotte. He gave up three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in the eight inning complete game. He needed only 89 pitches and 70 of them were for strikes.
Drew Sutton went two for four with a double. Kevin Barker tripled and he scored one of the two Bats runs.
The Bats took care of the Yankees for the second straight time and you couldn’t have asked for a better start from Matt Maloney. He gave up just three hits and didn’t allow a free pass and he struck out ten in the shutout. His ERA now sits at 2.00 and he has a pretty good 58/9 strikeout to walk ratio in 67 1/3 innings. It’s nice knowing you have a kid like this waiting in the wings in the event something happens in the big league rotation.
Drew Stubbs belted a solo shot in the 3-0 win. Norris Hopper went two for four with a walk and a run.
The Bats held on to their lead and ended their three game skid as they took care of Indianapolis 4-3. Danny Richar was the lone Bat with a pair of hits while Adam Rosales went one for three with a walk, a double, a run and an RBI.
Matt Maloney made the best of the Bats early lead and he improved to 2-0. He gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Carlos Fisher looked very sharp with 2 2/3 shutout frames with three strikeouts and he picked up his first save of the season.
