The Dragons lost to South Bend 8-4 in a game where Dayton just couldn’t find any pitching. Rafael Gonzalez gave up four runs in his start and both Kevin Gunter and Misael DeJesus gave up two runs a piece. Gunter took the loss because the two runs he gave up broke a 4-4 tie.
Logan Parker belted a big three run homer that gave the Dragons the lead for at least a half inning. Carson Kainer was the only Dragon with two hits and he drove in a run.
Rafael Gonzalez improved to 12-5 on the season with a nice start in the Dragons 6-2 win over Quad Cities. He gave up one run on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
Jason Louwsma went three for five with a double and two runs in the win. Logan Parker went two for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.
The Dragons pummelled the White Caps in an impressive 10-0 rout. Juan Francisco led the way at the plate. He went two for five with a double and four RBIs. Denis Phipps also had a nice game and he went three for three with an RBI and two runs.
Rafael Gonzalez continued his impressive season and he improved to 9-1. He gave up four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Eddy Rodriguez drove home Juan Francisco in the bottom of the eighth with a sac. fly to win it for the Dragons. Logan Parker was the hitting star though in the 4-3 win. He went three for three with a double and an RBI.
A pretty good start by Rafael Gonzalez was almost wasted. He gave up one run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings. Ramon Geronimo picked up the win despite giving up the lead initially and he improved to 2-1 on the season.
Juan Francisco provided the bulk of the Dragons offense in their 7-5 loss to the Loons. He went two for three with a homerun and four RBIs. Chris Valaika also had a hot day at the plate and he went four for five with two RBIs and a run.

Each team took a game in the doubleheader split between the Dragons and South Bend. In the first game, the Dragons got a nice start from Rafael Gonzalez in the 2-0 win. He gave up three hits and he struck out three and he threw all seven innings. He improved to an impressive 7-1 on the season. Juan Francisco was the hitting star in the win. He went two for three with a double and he scored one of the two runs.
Game two didn’t go quite as well. Daniel Guerrero had rough start and Misael DeJesus took the loss when he gave up two runs in the seventh inning. Chris Valaika doubled and he drove in two and scored once.
Rafael Gonzalez had a tough start and he took the loss in the Dragons 7-1 loss to Clinton. He gave up six runs on ten hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Chris Helsey had the only extra base hit of the game. He doubled and he also scored the only run for the Dragons.
The Dragons got it done with two wins in their doubleheader with Fort Wayne. In the first game, Rafael Gonzalez improved to an impressive 6-0 on the season with six shutout innings in the 4-1 win. He gave up three hits and four walks with a strikeout. Drew Stubbs hit a two run homer and Gerardo Cabrera went yard with a solo shot.
The Dragons got more solid pitching in the second game. Anthony Gressick gave up just one hit in five shutout innings and he improved to 2-1. Chris Helsey hit a solo homer in the 3-1 win.
The Dragons got it done and their hitting star was Denis Phipps. He went three for three with a homer and two runs. Juan Francisco doubled and he scored in the 3-2 win.
Rafael Gonzalez improved to 3-0 with the win. He gave up two runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Rafael Gonzalez gave up just one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in the Dragons 5-2 win. The win improved his record to 2-0 on the season.
Chris Valaika went two for four with two doubles and two runs. Denis Phipps doubled and drove in two runs.
The Dayton Dragons did a number on South Bend as they blew them out 11-2. Juan Francisco led the way and he went three for five with a triple, a homerun, two RBIs and three runs. Anthony Esquer also had a nice game with two runs and two RBIs.
Rafael Gonzalez picked up the win with a really nice start. He gave up just one unearned run on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings.
