Daniel Guerrero picked up his first win of the season and he improved to 1-2 in the Reds 4-1 win over Dunedin. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Juan Francisco singled and drove in two to bring his season RBI total up to 15. Justin Turner singled twice, drove in a run and scored.
Daniel Guerrero fell to 0-2 in the Reds 6-2 loss to Lakeland. He gave up four runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Justin Turner was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a double and an RBI.
You have to feel for Jordan Smith because he pitched a very nice game. He gave up one run on seven hits with five strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Unfortunately, he dropped his first start and he fell to 2-1.
Drew Stubbs ended up with two of the Reds three hits in the 1-0 loss. Justin Tordi had the other one.
Alexander Smit fell to 0-2 on the season and while his start wasn’t awful, it wasn’t good enough in a game where the Reds scored just two runs. He gave up two runs on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts in just four innings.
Juan Francisco was the offense for Sarasota. His two run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning was all the Reds picked up in the game.
Travis Wood didn’t get the win today but his start was impressive enough. He gave up two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Robert Manuel picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
Chris Valaika had a nice day at the plate. He went four for five with a two run homer. Jason Louwsma went two for four with a two run homer of his own.
Ruben Medina gave up three runs on the tenth inning as the Reds lost to the Yankees 8-5. It didn’t help that Daniel Guerrero had a rough start. He gave up five runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in five innings.
Jason Louwsma went two for five with a double and a run. Michael DeJesus went two for four with a run and an RBI.
Matt Belisle got it done in a rehab start for the Reds as he nearly went the distance in Sarasota’s 1-0 win over Tampa. He gave up just two hits in 8 2/3 innings of relief. Sean Watson got the final out of the game and he picked up the save.
Juan Francisco went two for four and he drove in the only run of the game. Sean Henry singled and he scored the lone run.
The Reds got off to a nice start in this game and they jumped out to a 3-0 lead but Alexander Smit gave up five runs in the third innings as Sarasota list it to Fort Myers 6-3. The five runs came on five hits and four walks in a tough outing.

Juan Francisco had a big day at the plate as the Reds took care of the Miracle 8-6. He went four for five with three doubles and three runs while Chris Heisey went two for three with a double and three RBIs.
Jordan Smith didn’t have a great start but he picked up the win none the less. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
