Travis Webb fell to 0-1 after a rough start in the Hillcats 6-4 loss to the Frederick Keys. He gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts in four innings.
Miguel Rojas was a perfect three for three. He walked, drove in a run and scored once. Carlos Mendez went two for four with a pair of RBIs.
Lynchburg couldn’t get much done at the plate in their 4-1 loss to Frederick. The lone run came on a solo home run by Cody Puckett. Josh Fellhauer singled and he drew a walk.
Travis Webb struck out six in four shutout innings. Scott Gaffney took the loss when he gave up a pair of runs in the eighth inning and he fell to 0-1.
The Reds took care of the Yankees 4-1 and it was Travis Webb who was good enough on the mound. He improved to 4-4 and he gave up one run on four hits and five walks with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Denis Phipps was the hitting star in the win. He went three for five with two RBIs.
Travis Webb must have felt okay about this one. Yeah, he gave up a first inning run and the Reds still didn’t have the lead when he left after four, but one run isn’t that much to make up. Unfortunately, the pen imploded and the end result was a 5-2 loss. Webb took the loss but Logan Ondrusek and Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette combined to give up four in the seventh that put this one out of reach.
Alex Buchholz doubled twice and scored a run in the loss. Carson Kainer went two for three with a walk and an RBI.
Travis Webb was shelled in the Dragons 9-1 loss to the White Caps. He fell to 4-4 on the season and he gave up six runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts in just 1 2/3 innings.
There were no hitting stars in this one. Drew Stubbs had one of the five hits and he scored the only run for the Dragons.
Rain cut this one short as the Dragons lost to South Bend 5-1. Jason Louswma singled and he drove in the only run of the game.
Travis Webb took the loss and he dropped to 3-3 on the season. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five walks with four strikeouts in four innings of work.
Dayton was held to seven hits in their 4-0 loss to Cedar Rapids. Chris Heisey was the only Dragon with two hits in the game and none of the seven hits were for extra bases.
Travis Webb took the loss and he dropped to 3-2. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
Travis Webb got it done on the mound in the Dragons 5-1 win over Fort Wayne. He gave up just one run on six hits and he struck out seven in five innings of work and the win improves his record to 3-1 on the season.
Chris Valaika had a huge day at the plate. He went two for three with two homeruns and four RBIs. Justin Turner also had a nice game and he went three for four with a homerun and two runs scored.
Travis Webb was spectacular in the Dragons 6-1 win over Wisconsin. He gave up just one walk in six innings of no hit ball and he struck out five. Pedro Viola was also very good and he gave up a solo homerun and he struck out five in just three innings of relief.
Billy Rojo was the hitting star. He went one for two with a double and an RBI.
Travis Webb threw five solid innings and while he didn’t pick up the win, he didn’t hurt the Dragons chances either. He gave up just two runs on four hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in five innings. Ramon Geronimo picked up the win with two shutout innings that followed Webb.
Juan Francisco was the hitting star. He went three for four with a homerun and two runs in the 5-2 win.
